RE: EDDiscovery
Prior to my first using EDDiscovery, I had no real idea of what it was for. Sure I saw the 3d map and thought it was cool, but without knowing how it worked and being new the game I parked it.
When I came back to it, I still failed to find much in the way of documentation - the guys on the forum were most helpful in helping me set it up, but then I was like great....what's it for? So... I though I might start writing a bit of background and user guide. But I don't want to do the wrong thing or waste time re-creating something that already exists (that I failed to find). So I attach an early draft - should I continue with it? There's a bunch of features I don't use so I'm not sure I can userguide everything. I wrote it in word cos that's what i have available, and saved as pdf as that's what I have available (and the doc wouldn't upload for some reason) - probably a wiki would be better but I don't know how to do that. Anyways, thoughts? Continue or abandon? |

RE: EDDiscovery
I like it. I find that it is easy to follow and understand.
Don´t know if there is already something like this out there or in planning - that would be Finwen you need to get in touch with (perhaps send a pm?). ![]() |

RE: EDDiscovery
I seem to be getting an error in v2.7.5, I'm not sure if anyone else has encountered it:

I am not sure if its the right place but i want more information like you have written in Githubs wiki https://github.com/EDDiscovery/EDDiscovery/wiki You can get write access at that place if you want to try it. /Finwen (10-04-2016 10:44 PM)AndySpawn Wrote: I seem to be getting an error in v2.7.5, I'm not sure if anyone else has encountered it: Probably solved it in 3.0.5 |

I'm also not getting the update message in the dialog box anymore, so I have to remind myself to check for newer versions ![]() ![]() |

I've gone ahead and created a github account to experiment with, learned a few basics and then copied the info onto the home page you linked ![]() If this is all cool, I shall endeavour to start fleshing it out. |

RE: EDDiscovery
I Finwen,
Does your latest eddiscovery work in 64 bit? You might find my talk with tech support helpful for future upgrades. *********************************************************** I was trying to separate the netlogs between my two commanders. In tech support words:- As it was only really intended for each player to have a single commander, there's no real way to differentiate between two different Commanders https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread...ost3766922 Don't underestimate me. I know more than I say, think more than I speak, and notice more than you realise. Follow my exploration on http://www.twitch.tv/wishblend ![]() http://www.alisonlauragoodman.co.uk |

RE: EDDiscovery
Woohoo, no more triliteration once Horizons 2.1 goes live
![]() More work for Finwen to pick up the coordinates from the logs but I suspect that's a lot easier that implementing the trilateration code was. |
