Easy trading manual.

Look at market.

Buy x amount of items for 1 price. Calculate how much you paid out.

Go to another location.

Sell x items for price higher than you bought them.

Result = profit.

Don't underestimate me.

I know more than I say, think more than I speak, and notice more than you realise.

Pretty much - yeah. It's clearly indicated what are the high production cargoes in every port, and their current prices against the gal average (always lower). Just buy those and head to where you know they are wanted. I've not yet seen a selling price for my goods that is below the gal average, so always profit. I have read reports of goods selling at less than the gal average at the optimal demand destination, but never seen it myself.

Mind you, once we have to start paying for fuel, general maintenance, repairs for bad frameshift exits, etc that will eat into profits. I can see the final game being a real grind in the early stages if you take the "easy" option of progressing only by trade. Personally I think this is great and just like the original game, but many players will hate it.

The upside is that a lot of concentrated trade in a small cluster of systems will improve your relations with them, once this mechanism comes online in the game, and will result in better prices, special missions appearing and a rise in pilot ranking as a merchant trader.

I've seen it a few times, but I don't think it's ever made me lose money on a trade. I wonder how the sell prices are calculated? Presumably it's demand related.

I assume then that the current trading is fluctuating with supply and demand.
